AOC & Associates Group Appointed to Organise The Dato’ Seri S. Samy Vellu National Futsal Tournament for the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC)

AOC & Associates Malaysia has recently been appointed by the MIC National Youth Leader and Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to organize a National Futsal Tournament for Indian youth in Malaysia. The tournament will involve over 5600 players representing 560 teams and utilize the volunteer support of the MIC Youth Brigade. The Tournament Patron is the MIC President and Minister of Works, Dato’ Seri S. Samy Vellu. The project will be coordinated by Directors Gregory Dennis and Eugene Raj Arokiasamy.

Go Futsal, Sports Programmes promote Futsal in Malaysia

AOC Director Mr. Gregory Dennis was involved in a series of projects to promote Futsal in Malaysia. Among the tournaments organised so far are for local corporates such as REDTONE, Johnson & Johnson as well as the National Service Youth Programme titled "Kejohanan Futsal Inter Kem Khidmat Negara, Piala Menteri Pertahanan Malaysia." The latter attracted more than 500 youth in a single day where teams trashed it out to vie for the inaugural championship trophy. This introductory tournament is to lay the groundwork for bigger events to be organised throughout the country next year. <back to top>

Group Managing Director attends the World Indian Diaspora Conference in Mumbai, India, January 2005

Mr.Eugene Raj Arokiasamy, will attend the World Indian Diaspora Conference in his capacity as the Group Managing Director of AOC & Associates and consultant to the Malaysian Indian Congress, Youth Section. His role will be to identify new opportunities for economic and political co-operation between representatives of government, private sector and non-governmental delegations attending the conference. <back to top>

Malaysia-Japan Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Youth and Community Pilot 2006

AOC & Associates is currently in discussion with several Japanese NGOs and Universities to design and implement an ICT Youth and Community pilot project for the Parliamentary Constituency Member of Parliament for Kota Raja, Shah Alam Malaysia. This project will be co-organised with several local partners, including the Kota Raja Youth Club and the Salam Foundation of Malaysia. <back to top>

AOC & Associates Malaysia assists in the organization of the Melaka International Youth Dialogue (MIYD) 2005

AOC & Associates Consultant, Ms.Noriko Yoshimoto, conducted a working shop at the World Assembly of Youth(WAY) MIYD 2005 to assist with identifying roles of National Youth Councils in promoting youth development and capacity building. The Dialogue was attended by over 150 delegates from 40 countries. Outcome of the dialogue and workshops can be obtained from the World Assembly of Youth (WAY). <back to top>

E-Procurement Assessment and Monitoring for Malaysian Debt Venture Capital

AOC Director, Keith Timimi is currently conducting the assessment of the Malaysian Government e-procurement project know as “e-perolehan”. The 105 million ringgit project was launched in 1995 by the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit of the Prime Ministers Department is currently being managed by a private sector company. Keith will be responsible for the Technological assessment of the current system. <back to top>

AOC & Associates Group Produces Tsunami Relief Proposal for the Peace Malaysian and the Malaysian Government.

AOC & Associates Group has been appointed by The Hon.SA. Vigneswaran, the Vice Chairman of the Tsunami Relief committee of Peace Malaysia, to produce the Malaysian relief strategy document for Sri Lanka. The team to formulate the strategy document will be led by Group Managing Director, Eugene Raj Arokiasamy. <back to top>

AOC & Associates Group assists with World Assembly of Youth 16th General Assembly February 2005 in Namibia

AOC & Associates Group will assist the World Assembly of Youth(WAY) and the National Youth Council of Namibia in organising the 16th General Assembly. The General Assembly is supported by the President’s Office and the Ministries of Youth and Education of the Republic of Namibia. Delegates from 60 National Youth Councils and Representatives of Government will attend the Assembly. <back to top>

AOC & Associates Director wins UNDP award in Timor-Leste

Director, Mr.Miguel Manatelu has won the United Nations Development Programme Award for his contributions to youth development in Timor-Leste. This this is the first time such a prestigious award has been given by Mr.Hasagawa, Resident Representative of UNDP Timor-Leste. We congratulate Mr.Manatelu on receiving this award and for being relected the President of the National Youth Council. <back to top>

AOC & Associates Malaysia produces blue print for the Malaysian Indian Youth Development Foundation(MIYDF)

As part of his part-time secondment to MIC Youth Section, Eugene Raj Arokiasamy, has tasked with producing the blue print for the Malaysian Indian Youth Development Foundation(MIYDF). The aim of this foundation will be to work with the Government and support NGOs working with Indian youth. The Foundation will also organize activities of its own to facilitate youth development for Indian youth in Malaysia. <back to top>

Lt Col Latiff Nazir is appointed as Chairman of AOC & Associates Malaysia

Lt.Col(R) Latiff Nazir has been appointed as Chairman of AOC & Associates Malaysia. Latiff has over 45 years of experience in the Malaysian Armed Forces and also in the Private Sector. Lt.Col (R) Latiff Nazir is also a senior adviser to the United Malaya National Organisation (UNMO), Hulu Selangor Parliamentary Constituency - UMNO is the main political party in the Malaysian Government Coalition. Latiff was instrumental in assisting AOC & Associates Group to secure the Timor-Leste ICT Capacity Building Project 2002-2004 supported by the Swiss, Malaysian and Timorese Governments. The project was launched by the Prime Ministers of Malaysia and Timor-Leste. <back to top>

Eugene Raj Arokiasamy has been seconded to the Malaysian Indian Congress(MIC) Youth Section. The part-time secondment will begin in August 2004. Eugene will be responsible for designing and implementing National Youth Development programmes for the political party. The MIC is one of the pioneer political parties in a Malaysia and represents the interests of the Indian community in the National Government. MIC’s President is the Minister of Works and a National Youth Leader, the Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Malaysia. <back to top>
